Edie comes to the nursery to remind Miss Hoolie about a trip to the farm. She is in a hurry because she has so much to do. She goes to buy some sausages and a birthday card. She is in a rush and drops things all over. She posts her card, but when she returns to her bus, she realises she had left the door open. PC Plum isn't pleased. When she gets home, she sees that her sausages are missing. She asks PC Plum to solve the mystery. He thinks a dog had taken them, but it was Edie's fault for leaving the door open. Edie takes Miss Hoolie and the children to the farm to feed the animals. They have a lovely time. The McLeods' dog James isn't hungry, because he is full of sausages.
PC Plum joins the choir.
Josie asks Miss Hoolie to help think of a ballet the children might enjoy watching her class perform. They decide on a ballet about a fairy and a box of toys who love to leap, spin and dance. Spencer helps build the scenery for the ballet and brings it to the nursery. Big problem! But they can't bring it inside without spoiling the surprise. Archie comes up with the answer - bedspread curtains. They stop everyone from peeking at the scenery or the dancers until the ballet is ready. It is a smash!
Archie brings a hot-air balloon to the nursery. The children had been making chicks. Archie tries to use one of them for a passenger. It is very sticky and Archie gets in a mess. He is very angry. Miss Hoolie sends him home with a carton of juice. But instead of sitting down and relaxing, Archie decides to build a castle, but it falls down and he gets angry again and he squashes his juice. He goes to buy another carton from the shop and gets in a real bother when he drops his money. Penny helps calm him down and suggests exercise might stop him feeling angry. So Archie goes to see Josie to do some exercises. What Josie thinks he really needs are some good thoughts to think when he feels cross. He goes to the farm with the children to look at the newborn animals. When Archie sees all the cute wee baby animals, his angry feelings disappear.

Josie brings the children to the city.
When Edie arrives she is out of puff. She had been rushing around doing jobs for Archie. She even eats all of Miss Hoolie's biscuits! Archie asks her to pick up the game he had invented. Poor Edie has to return to Archie's castle to take him out again! This time there are no biscuits. Archie gets out of puff searching for biscuits and Edie is far too tired to go to the shop. They need someone to get them back on their feet and fit! Josie tells them they need exercise and healthy food. Miss Hoolie, Archie, Edie and the children get plenty of exercise in the nursery with Josie and enjoy playing with Archie's invention.

Miss Hoolie and Josie Jump run a football match
Everybody is having a party.
Archie invents a fantastic rhyme machine. Miss Hoolie suggests they use it to tell a story. Josie, however, suggests they use it to make a song. Spencer comes up with a tune, and then Archie and Josie host a sing-along at the nursery.
PC Plum has arranged to take Miss Hoolie whale-watching. Spencer makes them a whale chart so that they can tell the different types of whales apart. But PC Plum accidentally drops the smelly sandwiches on the floor. Suzie saves the day, by making up a picnic hamper for them.
Penny Pocket is head coach for the Balamory sailing team, and there is a boat race that day. The club's newest member, Josie Jump, is rather nervous, but Penny gives her a last minute training session and she feels better. But all that shouting has made Penny's throat sore. Archie makes her a megaphone to amplify her voice.
It's Josie's birthday.

PC Plum takes on a missing cow case.
A puddle inspires Archie to create a reflecting machine. He goes to Pocket and Sweet's to buy some things that reflect. Suzie finds lots of things, but in the end all Archie takes is a bicycle mirror, and a mop and bucket. He makes the machine, but then can't think of a game to play using it- he has promised Miss Hoolie he will use the machine to play a game with the children. Can Josie Jump save the day?
PC Plum investigages strange emanations coming from his police radio, and from taps and kettles all over Balamory. Edie has accidentally turned on an old transmitter, broadcasting her singing practice. Archie is called in to solve the problem.
It's a rainy day, so the cafe is packed with people. PC Plum cancels his bird-watching plans to do crowd control. The kids were supposed to go to the beach, so Spencer is sent to entertain them. Instead of a sing-song, Spencer has an idea to bring the seaside inside. Written by Peter Hynes.
Suzie is organising a street parade.
PC Plum finds a lot of old hub caps. He takes them to Edie, but she has a lot already, and has no room for any more. She discovers that they make a great sound when you bang them together, and suggests PC Plum take them to Spencer- he may be able to make them into a musical instrument. Spencer shows PC Plum how to make a "wind-clacker" for the nursery garden.
Josie Jump decides to tell the children a story about Anansi the spider, although Miss Hoolie appears to be arachnophobic. Archie makes Josie a model of a spider from yoghurt pots.
Today, the famous fiddle player Shiona Docherty comes to visit Miss Hoolie. Shiona and Spencer give the nursery children a concert.
It is a Play Day in Balamory, and Spencer is organising a Pixie Picnic. He has prepared some Pixie costumes, but has forgotten to prepare games- can Josie come up with some games?
A lot of money has been left on Edie's bus. She is unsure what to do with it, so she asks Archie if he can come up with a solution.
Archie has invented a party pack. It is dull so he goes to see Spencer who helps him to paint it and then to Josie to get ideas for games before going to the nursery to play with the children.
Giggles the Clown is performing at the Nursery today but rather carelessly he has lost his make-up, juggling balls, magic wand and the rest of his clown paraphernalia. Josie Jump and Archie assist. But who can help Giggles bake custard pies? Of course! Suzie Sweet! But will Suzie allow good food be thrown?
Edie hears some strange noises outside her house this morning. She eventually finds out that the noises were coming from Spencer's new music machine, which he brings to the nursery to teach the children a humming song.
PC Plum takes the children on a puddle walk in the forest.
There is a black and white dog shown in this for about 5 sec. It was filmed in the Glasgow Dog and Cat Home. I now own that dog, when I selected her I did not know she was in Balamory.
